Biden’s plans for you and your AR-15 no secret

An attorney and Second Amendment advocate is warning gun owners they will be the political victims of a Biden administration but predicts there is a weapon to help fight anti-gun politicians: the filibuster.

Mike Hammond, legislative counsel for Gun Owners of America, tells One News Now that GOA was warning American voters before Election Day that the Biden-Harris ticket was not hiding its plans to ban the manufacture and sale of AR-15 semi-auto rifles and the 30-round magazines made for them. The then-Democrat candidate promised he would give those current gun owners a choice: hand in your now-illegal Palmetto State or Smith and Wesson rifle in a buyback program, or register it under the National Firearms Act.

Among the legislation being planned by the Biden administration and Congress, the one that concerns me most is…

Federalizing election laws via ‘For the People Act’

Forcing gun owners to register firearms or turn them in.

In fact, days before Election Day, Gun Owners published an eye-opening post that literally cut and pasted the from Biden’s campaign website.

In an Oct. 7 story, One News Now also quoted from the Biden campaign website to alert readers what the Democratic nominee was promising. The campaign website states:

Biden website on gunsBiden will also institute a program to buy back weapons of war currently on our streets. This will give individuals who now possess assault weapons or high-capacity magazines two options: sell the weapons to the government, or register them under the National Firearms Act.

“I think their agenda is clearly draconian,” Hammond tells One News Now. “It’s clear that Biden’s intent is to essentially eliminate the Second Amendment.”

Biden would likely respond to Hammond’s claim by telling the GOA spokesman he’s “full of [expletive]” and claim he supports the Second Amendment, just as Biden told a Detroit auto plant worker last year during a brief but tense exchange caught on video. In that confrontation, Biden questioned the need for a firearm that holds 100 rounds and said the Second Amendment is not “absolute,” then claimed he was not “taking your gun away at all.”

Responding to the coming Biden-Harris administration, Second Amendment Foundation founder Alan Gottlieb warns the Second Amendment should not be ignored or tossed aside.

Bill of Rights”It’s the teeth in the Bill of Rights,” he says, “that protects the whole Bill of Rights: your right to speak, your right to assemble, your right to practice your religion.”

It is common, he adds, that people who want to snatch away one of those constitutional rights are not satisfied with just one but come after the others, too.

In a new TV ad, Gottlieb and SAF are warning the public about what is coming from a Biden-led White House and urging Second Amendment supporters to join their group to be a “Second Amendment First Responder.” A text to 47-47-47 signs you up.

According to Hammond, Biden’s very-public plan to force gun owners to register their firearms reminds him of gun registration and permits that were required in Nazi-led Germany.

Many historians and especially astute Second Amendment advocates can recall Germany’s history of gun control laws which pre-dated Hitler’s rise to power. The restrictions dated back to the 1920s, after the Treaty of Versailles, but they became more restrictive by the 1930s when rebellious Communists were fighting the fascist Nazis on the public streets and public safety was at risk.

Biden vs auto worker“It’s very much like Germany on the eve of Kristallnacht,” Hammond says of the current political climate, “and it’s a very nasty situation.”

“Kristallnacht,” which means “Night of Broken Glass,” occurred in November of 1938 when the Brownshirts rampaged through Jewish neighborhoods, ransacking thousands of businesses and burning hundreds of synagogues, and murdering those who resisted.

The anti-Jewish gun law went into effect the day after Kristallnacht.

According to Hammond, what is standing between gun owners and gun registration is a few Democrats who oppose eliminating the filibuster, which would give the Democrats enormous power if they can toss it aside as planned.

No gun owner should be happy they are depending on a handful of Democrats, Hammond says.

“On the other hand,” he adds, “if you’re falling off a cliff, you grab onto whatever ledge you have.”

My Thoughts:

I think Biden is biting off more than he can chew because it’s been proven that AR-15’s effect has no more than 0.5% of the gun deaths over the last 4 years. It’s the handguns that are the cause of the vast majority of those gun deaths over those years.

I know it's been discussed numerous times and I should be asking more on a legit level, but I haven't been on here for...
