Fans of the legendary Browning Hi-Power semi-automatic pistol will be excited to know that EAA is introducing their new Girsan MC P35 9mm pistol. Based on the same design as the original John Moses Browning Hi-Power pistol, the P35 promises all the reliability, accuracy, and performance that the original did but in new production firearms. EAA will be importing these firearms from the Turkish firearms manufacturer, Girsan based in Giresun, Turkey.
Browning Hi-Power @ TFB:
EAA Introduces the Girsan MC P35 Pistol Based on JMB’s Design
A couple of years ago many were disappointed to hear that browning discontinued what amounted to one of the most important firearms designs of the 20th century. Although parts are still available from Browning, no new Hi-Power pistols are being made. EAA has stepped in to pick up the slack and breath new life into the Hi-Power design. The EAA MC P35 pistols will still be chambered in 9mm. The pistol has an overall length of 7.75″, a barrel length of 4.87″, weighs 1.8-pounds unloaded, has a 15-round magazine capacity, and comes in black color only at the time of writing. Other features include windage adjustable rear sight, a dovetail front sight, a traditional slim trigger shoe, a serrated hammer ring, and enhanced external controls (extractor, ambi safety, and magazine disconnect safety).
The P35 will be built on a steel frame with a matching steel slide that features a matte black finish giving the entire handgun a very muted look compared to the polished slides and wooden grips of the original Hi-Power designs (the MC P35 will come with synthetic checkered grips). If you’ve ever been curious about the original Hi-Power pistol (which goes for north of $1,200 in many cases) and just couldn’t stomach the price of one, perhaps the opening MSRP of $528 that EAA is offering on the Girsan P35 will convince you to finally try out what has to be one of the most iconic pistols of the 20th century.
