At the Arms and Security 2021 exhibition held in Kyiv, Ukraine, the Ukrainian small arms manufacturer FORT (Science Industrial Association (SIA) “FORT” of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine) has introduced two new firearms – the FORT-230 submachine gun and the FORT-20 striker-fired pistol. In this article, we’ll take a look at the FORT-230 SMG.
FORT @ TFB:
FORT-230 SMG is a simple/direct blowback operated firearm chambered in 9x19mm. It is fed from 30-round double-stack box magazines. This is a select fire gun capable of firing in full-auto and semi-auto modes. The magazine release button and safety selector lever are ambidextrous. The non-reciprocating charging handle is reversible. The telescoping stock is adjustable with three positions. The gun has Picatinny rails on top of the upper receiver as well as in front of the trigger guard, to which the folding forward grip is attached. Oddly enough, the side cuts on the receiver are not M-LOK slots.

As of writing this article, this is pretty much all we know about the FORT-230 SMG. I’ll update this article or write a follow-up one whenever new information is available.
During the current and next weeks, we’ll report about several other new firearms released by Ukrainian companies at the Arms and Security 2021 exhibition. Stay tuned!
